Salesforce Nonprofit Implementation Leader (Open Application)

Remote
Contracted to Full Time
Senior Manager/Supervisor
We’re looking for a seasoned senior-level Salesforce leader. But note that this is not your typical Salesforce consulting role. This is about applying that special implementation magic that you have together with the equally important skills you bring for communication, relationship-building, strategic synthesis, and impactful delivery.

At The Build Tank, we help lead technology turnarounds at social sector organizations. A common element of such turnarounds involves coming into a situation where an organization’s Salesforce CRM implementation has not lived up to its promise. We help the organization restructure, build, and recruit a team to drive a new level of stewardship and partnership around its platforms.

However until that team is up and running, the organization needs expert help to turn their Salesforce CRM ship around. So we come in and run the Salesforce show while we recruit and train up a new team.

That’s where our Salesforce Implementation Leaders come in. We embed ourselves into the organization as extended staff members, building relationships, gathering understanding about needs and issues, creating a platform roadmap, and steadily making things better in an agile and strategic way. Experienced Salesforce practitioners will know that this requires a lot of different skillsets, but chief among them are excellent communication and relationship building skills.

It’s important for our Salesforce Implementation Leaders to have a very strong grasp of the Salesforce platform itself (including nonprofit usage), and they should be able to jump into the Setup menu to make appropriate changes and fixes. However this role is not a good fit for someone who wants to spend all day in the Setup menu. Rather this should be someone who is energized by engaging with org staff, understanding needs, knocking out hurdles, and communicating constantly.

We also have a culture of thought partnership, where we communicate, collaborate, and problem solve both internally among ourselves as well as with trusted org staff and consultants in our network. So people in these roles should be great at owning and delivering work independently, but also open and enthusiastic to communicate and collaborate, in pursuit of ever improving the way we operate and ultimately serve the organizations who have entrusted us to help move them forward.
